I must say that I am ecstatic to join the family at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School this year as our STEM Assistant Principal. As a native Richmonder, I am extremely blessed to be back in the community where my educational foundation was constructed. For the last eight years, I have held various positions in Louisa County Public Schools. I am proud to transition to the middle school level to work with the future of tomorrow.
My passion for education started in high school with the Teach for Tomorrow program. Also, in high school, I was blessed to receive a football scholarship to Concord University. Years later, as I reflect, I am so proud that my passion (football) allotted me an opportunity to pursue Education. At Concord University in Athens, West Virginia, I double-majored in Special Education and History Education. Following Concord, I earned my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from James Madison University.
I am extremely passionate and excited about continuing the wonderful work that is already in progress at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School. I look forward to helping our students discover their purpose by exposing them to an innovative and engaging STEM experience. My role as assistant principal is to serve the MLK community while ensuring that our students have a safe, rigorous, and caring place to learn and grow.
I am committed to serving MLK’s students, staff, and parents through open communication and a commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and excellence!
