Dear MLK Families,
We are excited to share details regarding the 2026 Omega Stars Youth Academy, a program focused on empowering tomorrow's leaders in STEM and service through engaging, hands-on sessions this fall.
Below is the schedule of upcoming events and workshops:
Upcoming Fall 2026 Events

October 10 (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM) | STEM: Entrepreneurship & Creativity in the SharQ TanQ
- Location: Main Richmond Public Library (2nd & Franklin)
- Focus: Students will apply basic economic principles, product development life cycles, and market analysis to a proposed STEM-based venture.

October 13 (7:00 PM) | Get A College Scholarship! Interactive Workshop
- Location: Online via Zoom
- Focus: An interactive session guiding students through college scholarship opportunities.

November 7 (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM) | STEM: Hip-Hop DJs, Emcees and Science
- Location: Main Richmond Public Library (2nd & Franklin)
- Focus: Students will analyze the physics of sound waves, frequency, amplitude, and acoustic resonance through audio production and DJing.

November 21 | STEM: Documenting the Story of Feeding 500
- Focus: Students will investigate logistical challenges, resource distribution, and food security dynamics in urban community relief efforts.

December 5 | Science Museum of Virginia Visit
- Focus: A group trip to explore movies and interactive exhibits.
Note: The program will continue into Spring 2027 with a focus on core life skills.
